E' il commento di Luca De Fraia di ActionAid e della Coalizione Italiana contro la Povertà (GCAP) presenti all’incontro col Presidente del Consiglio Prodi avvenuto ieri a Palazzo Chigi. "L’Italia rischia di presentarsi a mani vuote al Summit dei G8, in particolar modo per quello che riguarda il Fondo Globale per la lotta all’Aids, rinviando ogni impegno al prossimo Dpef". Intanto Vittorio Agnoletto, eurodeputato della Sinistra europea, afferma che il G8 può subito prendere "due decisioni: versare i contributi promessi al Fondo globale per la lotta all’AIDS, Tbc e malaria e impegnarsi per la modifica in sede WTO delle regole internazionali sui brevetti che, impedendo la creazione di un mercato internazionale di farmaci generici, condannano a morte milioni di persone ogni anno.

Uudessa raportissaan Amnesty vaatii Israelia palauttamaan palestiinalaisille täyden liikkumisvapauden Länsirannalla. Liikkumisrajoitukset ovat lamaannuttaneet alueen talouskehityksen ja lisänneet köyhyyttä, raportissa todetaan.
